The Center for Black Music aims to :

Promote Salvador as the global Center for Black Music in the World.

• To create the first Multi-media International Cultural Center, sensorial and interactive about Black Music, with an access to all publics
• Forge and strengthen cultural, musical and historical links between Brazil and Africa
• Promote, publicise and support the culture, music and memory of black populations of both the state of Bahia and of Brazil as a whole
• Develop into an attractive cultural tourism destination

Opening : 4th quarter of 2011
Surface Area : 1000 m² within the Museu du Ritmo (site of the old Market of Gold, Comércio district)
5 themed exhibition rooms with interactive multimedia installations
Exhibition layout design : Pedro Mendes da Rocha, Architect / Arte 3
Technical development : Mondomix and Atelier 144 (France)
Artistic content : Mondomix, in collaboration with a committee of Experts composed by European, Brazilian and African specialists
Target audience : Public in general
Estimated attendance : 50,000 people per year
