Manu Chao is returning to London to play live at The Forum on December 16. The world’s favourite Latino rebel hero will be playing songs from his latest album La Radiolina, and as always, also booming out the rocket-powered ska punk of Mano Negra days. In other news from Planet Chao – his new single La Vida Tombola (a tribute to Diego Maradona) will be on digital release from 19 January 2009 and February sees the publication of The Train of Ice and Fire. This book by Ramón Chao documents the epic train journey Manu and a rag tag collective of musicians, tattooists, acrobats and artists took across Colombia in 1993, performing free concerts at railway stations as they went.
